Walter L. Willhite, 83, 312 North Street, died
Friday evening in Veterans Hospital, Danville, Ill. He had been ill for
several weeks. Mr. Willhite was born Aug 21, 1886 to Voorhees and Molly
Bagby Willhite. He married mattie Knee on June 1, 1919 at Covington.
He was a farmer and had been employed by the city for 20 years. Mr.
Willhite attended the Oak Hill Tabernacle Church. He was a veteran of
WWI. Surviving are his widow; his stepmother, Mrs. Elsie Willhite,
Redlands, Calif; 4 daughters, Mrs. Mildred MIller, Fairmount, Ill; Mrs.
Lester (Patsy) Utterback, Priest River Road, idaho and Mrs. Lawrence
(Galdys) Brady and Mrs. Ron (Jane) Hendricks both of Crawfordsville; 4
sons, Walter Jr. Homedale, Idaho; Richard, New Richmond, Robert,
Crawfordsville and Floyd, CLayton; two brothers, FLoyd BLoomingdale and
Willard, ROckville; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Hann, Danville, Ill and Mrs.
Lelia Dayton, Rockville, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Lester Wright at 2 p.m. Monday at
Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial in Willhite Cemetery south of
Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home. - transcribed by kbz
